6 more days...

As the date draws nearer, I'm feeling more apprehensive of what's to come. Of course I'm glad that after waiting for 2 years, I am finally going to get my knee fixed up. However, the cost of it made me quite upset. It's no longer about the money that my mother has to pay, it's about what I cannot do after the operation for about 9 months. Let me list down several things I would like to really do:

1) Basketball. Been practising some throwing...
2) Dancing. Been learning a dance, not the Befrienders' dance of course. It's a much cooler dance.
3) Doing PE. Hey I'm the PE rep and I don't take part in PE? Floorball, basketball :D

Also, my table tennis would have to stop but should I continue after my recovery or should I just forget about it? Have to think about it.

What's worse is that I won't be able to play captain's ball with the class or with anyone. Totally left at the sideline. AHHH

Now back to the holidays, yesterday was the first day for the holidays which I do not have to go back to school haha. Previously I had went back to school for PW, econs remedial and befrienders meeting. Have to say, first day only I feel so bored and gloomy. The weather didn't help too cos it was all dark and gloomy. The things I am doing at home is just reading "The Prisoner of Birth", playing Final Fantasy XII, practising my dance (not befrienders) and studying japanese. Decided not to go to the language school Ikoma as the materials are about 90% the same as mine and I can find lots more online too with regards to the JLPT. Wanted to find Wen Hao to play basketball today but he had lessons so I gave up. Hopefully next week he can before thursday =/. Tomorrow morning I'll go practice again haha.

Holidays are here

Don't know why, I would feel quite down when the holidays are here because I think that I won't be able to see my classmates much for a long time =/. Despite that, I guess yesterday was quite okay. For the civics lesson, we received our progress report and finally, our class photo!! After that, Mr Wong got us to play Chemistry Taboo haha, It's just taboo but the words to guess are all related to chem stuffs yea. The winner side would be promised high-end ice cream next time haha. So my group started spamming all the difficult terms, crazy. Eventually my group won la lol so we'll be getting our ice cream next time! After that everyone had to settle the H3 applications so we got into busy mode for a while. Then, about half the class met up at the amphi to play captain's ball. We played for quite a long time before so many strangers joined in that I didn't want to play anymore...yea so at about 12.30 we left for the canteen. I sat there, talked a bit and ate and finally left for home.....

Had a long chat with Reynard online haha, such a nice friend. Later I have to go back to school for tech-run or whatever that is and have a discussion on PW OP.

Class outing on Friday 03/10/2008

Friday totally rocked man. First thing in the morning we had the briefing for project work oral presentation. Our dry run is on thursday and that means we have less than a week to prepare man. I think that really washed us awake from our holiday mood we got due to a a week of no school. This is the last part of the PW and I'm quite sure my group and in fact all the groups in 6V would be able to do a good job for this.

After that, about 10 of just followed mr lu back to his house in Bukit Timah road (as in he led us there, not that we stalked him lol :P) Play his Nintendo Wii till about lunchtime with the guys while the girls (only si hui and clarissa) played cards with shaun and RenaRd. The games on the Wii was really fun, loved especially the Super SmashBros and Snake's totally awesome with his final Smash, shoot the other players from a untouchable distance lol. Everyone was like scrambling to get out of my crosshair haha. The mario kart game was cool too, though i had to get used to driving for a while. After that we went for lunch at a nearby hawker centre, where the rest of the CCALs joined us.

More games when we went back to Mr Lu's house after lunch but i was quite tired already haha, since i normally have my afternoon nap :P Then i saw the girls helping mr lu's mother in the kitchen and i felt like helping too but i felt it would be wierd so i left them be. Eventually there were 4 girls helping Mr Lu's mother so I guess it would be fine. Despite that, I felt a little guilty so I decided I would help out as much as possible at the BBQ pit, which I did :), hopefully.

The fire was damn difficult to start because we were using Cock Brand fire starters lol. Ok, actually it was because the fire starters were already so old so they couldn't really catch any fire. Luckily Mr Lu went out to buy new ones so yeah, the fire finally was strong enough to cook the food. Wow, we spent about 1 hour starting the fire!

After dinner we went back to the house for more fun and have dessert prepared by Mr Lu's mother. Then we stayed till 10 pm and then everyone left for home. Went back to Toa Payoh with Tian Fei on bus 157.

All in all, it was a great class outing and we certainly have to thank Mr Lu and his mother for their hospitality. May we have more of such great times together!

Right, after 1 week of pure studying and papers after papers...the promos have come to an end. Well, i shouldn't do too badly i think, in fact im quite happy with how to did the exams, though the results aren't out yet :P. So yup, i have plenty of time to do lots of stuffs. I am learning japanese again (back to memorising the syllables) and i'm also picking up the guitar too.

Went to NYJC with wenhao today to help him out with physics but i don't think i helped out much, besides leaving my physics file in his hands...it wasn't a bad place, nice buildings. But the classroom we were in was in a very very wierd place.....plus, i also found out about his friend :)

Finally, the highlight of the day was the Singtel Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix! Been watching F1 for quite some time now and the entire week i was wondering how the track and race would be like...was apprehensive about how all the drivers said the track was super bumpy, like the 'cobbled paths of Paris'. I couldn't really see any chances of overtaking for the drivers. However, seeing them race on Singapore Road was an exciting prospect. So yea, today was the race and Felipe Massa of Ferrari was in Pole Position, followed by Hamilton and Raikkonen. You all should know how the race turned out...dramatic, appalling and exasperating. I wonder what the problem was as i've never quite seen such things before...

Hence i suggest to the authorities, before the next race in the next season (provided they do not cancel the contract prematurely), please do something to improve the track so that it's much more flamboyant but without all the accidents...

Japan is next. It has a really long long long straight course and i anticipate a very high speed F1 race.

IHC Table tennis was today...and i was the reserve. That's so dumb, me in reserve? That's the result you get, last for table tennis. I only played 1 match after waiting for so long and the person in charge just want to attitude. Had i played more matches things MAY be a bit different. Since you guys want ex-players so much, why not get me, a current player to play for you guys?

So the match i played was with this guy called Gareth and apparently everyone said he was damn pro and so i took up the challenge. I played not up to standard and it was a 11 - 6, though i had managed to bring it up from 10 - 2 to 10 - 6 before losing. But i believe that i had the potential to win him...sore...

Ah i think my life is back to normal...is it? Promotional exams are coming soon so i need to really spend more time studying. Sometimes i think studying and playing can come together but i think it can be quite hard as when you play too much you get hooked up and cannot study...and when you study too much, you get hooked too - i mean serious - and playing time is reduced. i think at this point of time, i still can play a little but when the promos draw nearer, i better start allocating more time to my work...

EOM for Pw is still at a standstill, which means i haven't touch it. I have to get it done, and in a superior quality as well by the 14 of August as that is my consultation day with ms low. c'mon, i know we can all get As for PW and slaughter this subject! i need an idea of a environmental video with a strong message to spread for my PW, anyone got ideas can email me at mayday1_2@hotmail.com

I just went to Man Ning's blog and read her latest post and realised that i didn't really talk to her in class much...i just i have to do better than that!

tomorrow is IHC table tennis! man, today i played with some guys from the team and hopefully tomorrow i can play as well, and hope we'll win!

this is a relatively easy week but when the results are coming back....ARGH!!
Maths and physics were good as i managed to get A for both of them but for CHEMISTRY, i got a disappointing B. Not that i didn't study but i was too panicky on the day of the exam and screwed up =/. hopefully i still can take H3 chem cos im not very far away from an A. Really there isn't any hope for Econs and GP either. SO WORK HARDER FOR PROMOS!

Today was also the OGL recruitment briefing! I really want to join the Oteam and i'll be really prepared for this unlike for the council. i'm thinking of decor, logistics or maybe even games or storyline! all are pretty interesting to do lol. Hopefully dry runs dun clash with the china training which i wish to go.

lastly, PW, the problematic thingy. i think for the Pw component, it might be going well since we are getting onto the interviews while the surveys are still being "locked". hope for the best...

celebrate man cos this saturday's HOMECOMING DAY at chs! gonna go back there with friends :) and monday is the coveted 09SO6V CLASS OUTING AT ECP! gonna have fun!

TMS SIngapore Open 2008!

wahaha I know i haven't blogged for quite some time and i really wanted to blog about last week since uhm....last week? ok so here i am.

last week here was a major table tenns event held at toa payoh sports hall and STTA. i managed to go watch it on the first day with my cc table tennis class friend. The first day was free and it already got me addicted so i also went down on the second day but i didn't get to watch cos i had to pay :( i had meant to sneak in lol, but well security was tight. so i went on the third day, which is a friday and costed me 8 dollars. nevermind, it was worth it.

ok into the tournament! watched a lot of great games including those of super duper world ranking table tennis players. one wierd thing was that the world #3 Wang Liqin lost quite badly haha. Someone which caught my attention was Ishikawa Kasumi from Japan. She is only 15 years old and trashing her opponents!?! I also like her style of playing - fast attacks.

watching so many nice matches had got me hyped up about table tennis and i'm gonna train damn hard to reach those kind of standards lol. hard wor~, i'm now just getting trashed by little boys and girl. the main point about watching the tournament is so that i can learn by watching, i call this my "Learning Journey".
I'm also downloading many videos of great matches to learn from haha. See how much I love Table Tennis now...

Made it a point to mug during the holidays but i don't know how effective is it, should be okay...heading on to Hainan Island, China tomorrow for a holiday. I'm gonna get that mizuno table tennis shoe and if possible, a nice mizuno training shirt :). And talking about studying, i'm bringing along my econs notes to mug in china, especially during the 5-hr arduous flight there and back, more than 10 hours of mugging econs, to make up for concentrating only on the other subjects.

wow, i've attended several match supports now! table tennis, softball, netball (well, it was on the way to SAFRA toa payoh, so i decided to hitch a free ride and support the netball girls as well :P),badminton and basketball, maybe that wushu finals as well haha. Seriously they are very exciting and it's good to see rj win the championship title and pretty disappointing to see them lose. I guess as a sportsman you may lose sometimes, like how chelsea lost to man utd. they need to stand up again to fight for glory. i would admit that i go for these match supports not entirely because i really support rj but due to the fact that i like sports so much, these finals are too much for me to miss!

yet again, watching the sports people fight so hard for the title makes me sad again, that i wished i was like them or even with them, to be able to take centre stage and play against their strong opponents. i really came to rj to join a sports cca so that i can fight with them, but the school just didn't give me any chance. i think fate probably didn't too, giving me this one hell of a knee. i think i'm really losing out on a lot...will there be better luck for me soon? hope so.

hopefully there are more match supports to come so that i can watch and support!

YAY, i've finally got a CCA! and it's table tennis! :)

Well, Mr Goh, Mr Adrian Tay and the chs Coach Zhang all agreed to let me train with the catholic high team. Mr Michael, the PE HOD for rj has also agreed to let me take it as my external CCA! yup, so i'm on my way to training table tennis haha! The thing i have to think about it whether i want to train on both monday and friday a not, since i have peer tutoring on wednesday and i am intending to join the gavel club. i'll see how it goes.

man, anyway, i had class camp on thursday and friday. i think what happened in the class really upset me. i don't want to see any people in the class unhappy. hopefully the CT reps can cheer up and we can improve the situation tremendously. Han Lin and Reynard were really caring and i'm feeling guilty that i can't make them feel better much. I hope the discussion we had can make the class more aware of their responsibility in the class and we can super-uber bonded.

Class bonding is really important. We would be together for 2 years and we still have 5/6 of the journey to go. If we want to depend on each other in times of need and stress (like the night-walk), we have to be bonded and close. I didn't realise that for the past 2 years cos i was really determined to go into rj. But now i've changed myself for the better. the class cannot be neglected.

While we are keeping the goal of getting fantastic results for our A lvls in mind, we cannot forget those who are around us. they are the ones which can make us look forward to coming to school and brighten up our lives. If we really want to enjoy these 2 years, class bonding is the way to go...

ok, back to the class camp. The waters in Ubin is really dirty and oily that it caused us to stink! the heavy rain on the 2nd morning while we were walking towards the jetty was cleaner la! kayaking was actually just using the duckies lol and the water was just....urgh. For the night right, some of us slept in the basha tents but a few of us slept by the campfire site. Shitty ants came crawling around us though.

High Rope course was seriously terrifying man, but i guess if i do more, i may just have the confidence haha.

Well, went to TTSH to follow up on my knee injury after the MRI scan. Got an X-ray and waited for 3 hours before i finally got to see the doctor! I was told that my epiphyseal line has not fully formed yet so i can still grow taller(serious?). Due to that, he advised me not to do the surgery now and wait till next year when the epiphyseal line is more or less formed so that my growth would not be hindered. So i guess i get to grow taller in the expense of being 'unfit' for another extra year (including recovery period).

On another thing, i just started to play dota a bit and wilson is really sick, whichever team has him would have a higher chance of winning. He is just too zai already, hopefully NS rusts his skill muhahaha :P

MUGGING DAY!

Woah, i just came back from sch and i think i studied like for about 3 hours in the library:). wow! that is so cool! it's really a nice place to study there and the books and abundant. i'll keep this up lol.

Anyway, i still don't have a cca and council interviews are probably still pending. yesterday i did went for the shooting tryouts. haha if i didn't meet yongsheng during lunch i probably didn't think of going there.Yup anyway, i was quite wrong about shooting. it's pretty fun trying to hit the targets and exhilarating hitting the right spots. pistol is definitely harder than the rifle but it doesn't matter which one i would use if i got in :) Then the shooting coach also conducted some 'tests' on us haha. I think i may have a chance to get in this time haha.

Just now after leaving the library, i went for my usual walk around the school premises to see the sports CCA in training. seriously, training is good and i really want to join some intense sports cca....but my knee...
walking home from sch i can tell you i was feeling a mixture of anger at my predicament and sadness as well...hapless me.

i didn't come to rjc just for the academic results. I came here for the fun and the excitement of being in a CCA. I've worked so hard for 2 years and this is what i get...

Yesterday's orientation was quite boring but at least I was abel to catch up with some of my og mates.

Seriously, I cannot handle interviews. I'm not sure if i'm nervous or what, I think i did quite badly for the council interview. I need to learn how to really handle interviews effective. That's why my orals always fail...Now i'm quite afraid of the day 26 march when the list of campaigners will be released. Hope I can scrap through...

Haha I've been enjoying most of the lessons since I get to learn new stuffs. I'm no mugger(YES!) so i guess i may not enjoy it as much when the tests come haha. Yup, tests have been announced for Math, Physics and Chem...so I had better prepare so that i can get some decent scores.

Take 5 on friday haha, it was really really enjoyable i think. The Gladiator game really attracted lots of people, so huh, effects of media violence? lol. watched people play soccer and frisbee. Talent time was awesome, especially the group category. The first band was darn good but they still lost to the HOKKIEN BAND LOL, THEY ROCK MAN! ~Nasi Wa Woo Ji Pa Ban~ The wind is also damn nice at Pasir Ris park.

After that went to whitesands for lunch with a few og members and then pool at downtown east with some classmates.

Seriously, maybe i should give up the OG and just crash BW09, it's probably much better there. =/

Great Week

Haha the class decided to celebrate the birthdays of those people whose birthdays have passed yesterday and since mine passed 1 day ago, i get to celebrate my birthday again lol! So many celebrations man, i really appreciate it all, especially to BW02 for the surprise! seriously i didn't know about it yea haha.

yup, so rj had no school today so i get to go back to chs. haha basically all the rj students went back and i got to watch half of the cny celebration. Hey the lion dance by Koon San (with jiao lian there) was quite nice, and that lion ate Jeff Goh lol. he must be thinking of dissecting it at that point! after that we went to find the teachers to talk to, it was really nice meeting them all again cos we couldn't get the chance to when we got back our results =/. Jeff Goh really has got a firm handshake la!

Played bridge with my 4-6 pple before leaving to grandfather's house. Really, i enjoy bridge a lot, those who haven't learn it please do so that you guys can enjoy it too!

OH YA, since i met mrs loh, i told her that i'm trying for council (yup i am) so i asked her for some advices lol! now i know what to do heh heh!

For Raffles - Serve or Fight

So in these few weeks of being CCA-less, I have opened up my options to a few more sports CCAs, like ODAC and floorball but i hope i still can go for softball and table tennis trials again haha :P. The thing is that the idea of running for the students' council came into my head, although i have been tempted many times. Being a Councilor means doing your part to serve the school. On the other hand, i think i still prefer to fight for the school, that meaning being in a sports cca, using your sweat and blood to fight for honour. I'm not sure if i can get into a sports cca i really like though.

Anyway, the Students' Council is really impressive, the way they carry out the elections etc, I have never see it before although apparently RI already has such things. I got advices from Jerome if i do run for Council haha - get more friends, friends of friends and friends of friends of friends...

Lastly, i'm starting my table tennis training tomorrow! Hope i'll be able to improve a lot (: though it isn't cheap but i think i should pursue this my interest.

yea, so this post is basically about yet another decision/choice i have to make, one which i can't use the Cost-Benefit Analysis to help me decide :P

haha i read from Grace's blog that those who read blogs and don't tags are stalkers. So I'm actually going to put a counter to see if anyone really comes to my blog (though i don't think many). i'm not really good with blogs yet, yea sorry all those who do come here.

I got back my O lvl results last thursday and i must say it is nerve-wrecking for me. I was pretty calm the day before as i was quite confident. But when the hall of fame came out and i found out that i wasn't on the list of 10A1s, 9A1s or 8A1s but on the 7A1s. I was really really shaken by that, didn't really expect myself to do that bad. Well, i though higher chinese was definitely not an A1 and english lit probably, so the third one was a guessing game for me, either English or combined humans. yea, so i was really quiet after that. later on when i got it back, i got 7 points, A2 for english. (a fail? :P) Lunch with classmates following that (:

Maths is really tough, i'm still learning how to use the GC, which i hope to get used to as soon as possible. i should buck up about now, though i'm seriously not a mugger lol.

Life is still good at rjc, perhaps with the exception that i don't have a cca ><, can't start training...still no notification from the softball team, things doesn't look good here.

Lectures and tutorials, lectures and tutorials, some people may think i'm mad, but i think the lessons are quite nice...maybe because i like to learn stuffs haha. Sorry to BW02 if i don't really see you people often since i reach school only at about 7:30pm, but i'll try to talk to you guys as much as possible, yup so please talk to me too :). The class is not bad too, getting more fun here but there's more to improve!

It's confirmed that the O level results are going to be released this thursday so 4-6 and those people in my class, good luck! i said that i have 80% confidence of staying in rjc, but i don't really know haha. after that it's still another 3 weeks of agony waiting for the posting results...

CCA-less

Ah i'm CCA-less! ):
Went for the trial for table tennis on monday and it was terrible, even though i asked for a 2nd try...so on wednesday they sent me a sms telling me that i've been rejected. I had expected that but i still was unhappy after that.

On Tuesday I went for the fencing trial instead, which i screwed up too. Maybe i shouldn't have told them about my injury, could have a better chance. Hence as you may have guessed, i'm not accepted into the CCA. That coach also told me that if i don't get my knee fixed up, i can't play competitively so it's not really a loss not going to fencing, isn't it?

On Wednesday i went for the softball trials and there were only 4 boys(including myself) there. Although i did relatively well here, i think it's obvious i'm green in this sport. So far there hasn't been any news from them yet...please let them call me and inform me of a good news...=/

wen hao, who is now in ODAC, said something to me which is bitting but nonetheless unfortunately true. He said,"cant believe there will be a day when u are ccaless and i am hardcore cca."

OG Outing!!

Went out with about half of the og on sunday. At first we all thought we were going to ice-skating so i brought gloves and a jacket. however, since Lei Can came in a skirt, we decided to play pool and bowling at marina sq instead. Pool wasn't as fun as when i played with 6I'03 but nonetheless, i tried to teach and help the new players :) (i'm a newbie myself too!). Then we played bowling and it's my first time! I played ok but cleaned the gutter many times :p. Ate dinner with them then went home...

Brian, don't have to be like that, accusing me of wanting to go to those schools. No way. Just too lazy to blog (seems like the most common excuse for that :P)

Alright! Raffles just rocks! Orientation was so fun, although some J3s said that it wasn't as fun as theirs.

On the first day we met our OG, my OG is BW02 a.k.a T'wenty4-seven. Played Ice-breakers and toured around the school learning school song and cheers. however, the people in my OG still don't know each other yet so we kind of kept to ourselves, especially with all the waiting and so on. We didn't go for OG dinner as well haha.

then second day was much better. we people got to know each other better as we played the station games. Quite Fun. Then we also learnt the batch dance. It was hard to remember at first but the OGLs were good at teaching it and made us practise so we got a little bit more hang of it. I went home to practise, so i'm good at it LOL jk. Batch song we learnt too. It was written by one of the OGLs for us and everyone got so emo singing the song haha. And oh, we had OG dinner on that day! (:

External Activities to sentosa was okay, just that the rain ruined it a bit. Dance the Sun Dance to drive away the rain! haha, i want to learn the OGLs' Sun Dance!

4th and last day of Orientation, awww....anyway, we got to know our class so i was quite disappointed that in this class of 26 people, there were only 7 girls and there were 19 boys!! I was hoping for a more balanced class la, like 13 girls 13 boys? More fun. Then War Games, they were fun too la! however, the game "Strip me if you can" was so intense that my knee gave way...i fell and injured my thumb :( so that's the last straw, i'm going to see the doctor! O'nite was great too, just that my OG didn't wear any costumes but nvm. The finale was esp good, liked it so much...

Cousin Wedding

Since last Thursday I have been heading to my relative's house as they were preparing for my cousin's wedding. Saturday was the actual day of the wedding, from the ceremony whereby the couple serve tea to their elders and the juniors serve tea to them (and get ang bao!). Seeing them getting wed makes me think about my own future too LOL!

Anyway, after that we got home first as the ceremony in which the judge of peace declare them 'Man & Woman' (uh, aren't we all that?) and the banquet starts at only 6+. During that time i managed to finish the movie National Treasure starring Nicholas Cage.

Alright! I'm back from Vietnam on Sunday. Sad to say, i did not achieve one of my biggest aim there, which is to fire an AK-47 due to some reasons...=/. Anyway, plenty of food were served for every meal, mostly chinese food, that even though we were full, there was lots of leftovers. fruits were served for every meal so i think i broke my own record of the amount of fruits i eat per day huh. shopping was alright and i bought 3 T-shirts. Surprisingly the adidas shirts we bought were Made In Singapore and they were cheap! Even more funny is that the nike shirt my father bought for me in Italy, costing him $90+, was Made In Vietnam lol...haggling while shopping there is a must! my parents were so good at it (and aggressive too) that prices could go down from 8 USD to just 3 USD!! It just makes me wonder how they make profits...

the attractions weren't too bad. The tunnels were fascinating and the mekong delta place was soothing and nice! bought a conical hat there.

I have to say that i had a soccer marathon there! every time when i'm in a hotel there's a lot of soccer to watch...Champions' League during the weekdays and EPL for the weekends! I missed the Liverpool vs Man Utd match though since i was flying back.
There's internet at the hotel so i found out where i am posted to for PAE. well, Raffles, here I come!!

Tomorrow I'm flying off the vietnam but i haven't packed my clothes like i was instructed yet. Well, i'm not sure what i'd be expecting there but i would really like to shoot an AK-47!(that's what i read in some person's blog)

anyway, later i'm going for my first table tennis class as i've missed it last week due to some...as chian woon puts it, a gg chalet. i'm gonna play till i drop! can say that i'm very very excited. well, i did ran much yesterday and was fortunate to see a group of rgs students from the athletic team there LOL. But i ran my 2.4km very very slowly with a timing of 13:27 mins and the maximum chin up i can do is only 2. gotta train lots.

p.s: yes jing kai i blog, i just didn't like what i wrote in my old blog, so i shut it down.
